Description: Start Learning Cities UP is a strategic partnership between the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and Modiin Maccabim Reut, aiming to position lifelong learning as a fundamental element for regional and international development. The primary objective is to actively promote an inclusive culture of learning.

Since Trieste was designated a Learning City by UNESCO in July 2020, the goal has been clear: integrate lifelong learning into regional policies. This represents not only a transformation for cities but an evolution involving the entire region, focusing on interactive and technological experiences to develop new skills.

The project extends beyond regional borders, involving international partners and the Union of Israeli Municipalities. The aim is to create a deep connection between municipalities, with an initial focus on our region, through the sharing of ideas and practices. The approach includes the use of an innovative platform and leveraging education to counter antisemitism.

The aspiration is to transform cities into vibrant centers of knowledge and inspiration, further reinforced by international recognition as the “European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica – Gorizia 2025.” This project represents a vision for a future where lifelong learning is the engine of growth and development, emphasizing our commitment to transform cities into hubs of knowledge and inspiration, fostering community connections, and encouraging positive changes.
