Programme - LOCAL CITIZENS NETWORK

LOCAL CITIZENS NETWORK

Project activities include the involvement of local communities in 4 pilot areas located in 5 countries: Poland, the Netherlands, Cyprus, and the cross-border area including Italy-Slovenia.

Involvement activities include the creation of Local Citizens Networks – LCNs, informal partnerships that act as local multipliers for the project. LCNs are established in the pilot communities involved in the project, to test the methodological and technological components developed by SAFE-CITIES.

These participative mechanisms are intended to contribute to the development of activities related to Security Vulnerability Assessment, but also to activities implemented in the Pilot Sites, such as those related to validation, awareness-raising and citizens’ engagement. The ultimate ambition of the project is to promote such participative mechanisms at the local level, enabling their potential activity also beyond the project duration.

The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101073945
