Programme - ELoGE

ELoGE IN FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA 2021

ELoGE – European Label of Governance Excellence is a program of the Council of Europe – Centre of Expertise for Good Governance. In 2020, AICCRE FVG acquired accreditation from the Council of Europe’s European Platform of Strategy for Innovation and Governance at the Local Level to promote and implement the ELoGE Program in Italy, specifically in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The ELoGE FVG Program will involve 20 municipalities in Friuli Venezia Giulia in a self-assessment exercise by participating local administrations to be compared with the Benchmark of the 12 European Principles of Good Democratic Governance.

This self-assessment will be corroborated with data collected from citizens, administrative staff and elected representatives of participating municipalities through questionnaires and structured sessions. The Label will finally be awarded to the municipalities that reflect the 12 Principles to the greatest extent in their work, during a Final Award Ceremony. The ELoGE FVG Program aims to pursue the following objectives:

  • Improve and enhance Good Democratic Governance of local governments in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
  • Foster democratic participation of citizens in the public life of their municipality.
  • Understand the strengths and weaknesses of local government decision-making and public service delivery.
  • Disseminate and use the good practices of other local communities identified during the evaluation process aimed at awarding the ELoGE FVG recognition.
