SAFE – CITIES project meeting in Cyprus

On the dates between 10 and 12 October, we had the privilege of attending the SAFE-CITIES Consortium meeting in Larnaca, Cyprus.

In close collaboration with Ianus Consulting, Ministry of the Interior of Cyprus and National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, we organized a workshop with 15 local stakeholders representing civil society organizations and institutions in Cyprus, focused on improving community participation for the safety of public spaces.

The workshop also aimed to analyze the safety and risk culture in Cyprus and to implement the methodologies developed by the project on a specific case study in one of the pilot areas.

The SAFE-CITIES project has the mission to protect public spaces by introducing a cutting-edge security and vulnerability assessment framework, all supported by an interactive platform, which allows the simulation of complex scenarios, taking into account crowd behavior and of various types of potential threats.

This framework paves the way for actionable recommendations to improve the safety of our current and future public spaces. Our commitment to making public spaces increasingly safer is constant. We are proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to sharing further updates on our progress.

Together we can build safer communities!
