SAFE-CITIES PROJECT

SAFE-CITIES is a project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.

SAFE-CITIES aims to support excellence in the protection of public spaces by providing and testing a Security and Vulnerability Assessment framework in 4 pilot areas in 5 EU countries. The project also develops a platform for the simulation of complex scenarios, crowd behaviour and attacks within a realistic 3D virtual environment, which supports security practitioners in performing comprehensive and dynamic risk and vulnerability assessments of the analysed site, identifying potential vulnerabilities and supporting the involvement and cooperation of public and private actors, including citizens, in the elaboration of strategies to secure public spaces while preserving their open nature.
