Abstract: In NGOs working for peace, the goals are not well defined and are strongly imbued with the ideology of peace and development achieved in the country of origin of the operators. The operators, in turn, are also very ideologically oriented and often convinced that dedication can make up for the deficiencies in technical professionalism.
Actions oriented more by the starting values then by professionalism hardly produce effective results. Therefore, the need for professional training is highlighted, stressing that it needs to be articulated around uìissues such as the most effective actions, the culture of the place where the action is implemented, the rationality of sequences through which the action is implemented.
