Description: ProAdrias aims at developing the ECI (European Critical Infrastructures) protection and at organising responses to alerts about potential risks of terrorism in the Adriatic basin. The project falls within the EU program of “Critical Infrastructure Protection”. The Adriatic Seaway has been conceptualised since a number of years as a critical infrastructural and logistic support to the development of the European economies in their relations with southern Mediterranean countries, Black Sea Region and the Middle East. The critical infrastructures protection mechanisms have nowadays emerged as a crucial aspect of the regional security and development processes of the European maritime regions. The objective of the project is to draft a set of recommendations for EU and regional authorities that will lead to strategic civil defence plans to counter natural and man-made threats in the Adriatic Seaways.
