The Citizens’ Assembly is a structured forum for discussion composed of a group of individuals selected to provide a balanced representation of the cross-border community of Gorizia, Nova Gorica, and Šempeter-Vrtojba.
It is neither a political body nor a formal representative body.
It is a group of citizens who, through facilitated meetings supported by data and information, reflect on:
- Social and Cultural Impacts of GO! 2025
- Strengths and Weaknesses
- Future Prospects and Cross-Border Legacy
The goal is to formulate well-reasoned and consensus-based recommendations
Participants:
- will take part in structured meetings;
- will listen to informational presentations;
- They will discuss in small groups;
- will help draft the final recommendations.
No specific technical skills are required.
A willingness to engage in discussion and actively participate is required.
The Assembly will consist of 60 people:
- 24 identified by the municipalities of Gorizia, Nova Gorica, and Šempeter-Vrtojba
- 36 selected through an open call
Selection through the Open Call will be based on:
- preliminary definition of quotas (region, age, gender, educational background, area of experience)
- random selection within predefined groups
- creation of reserve lists for potential replacements.
This method is designed to ensure balance and a diversity of perspectives, preventing the participation of only those who are already involved or belong to the same field.
