Abstract: The first section deals with some aspects of ‘everyday life’ in Gorizia: attitudes toward the historic city center, the women perspective, creative ideas of the elderly, young people and the use of psychoactive substances, the styles of eating out, the quality of sport activities, the attitudes toward illegal immigrants.
The second section offers a glimpse of some structural analysis about Gorizia and its context: demographic trends; occupational scenarios due to the fall of the border; possible development agency for the cross-border regions in Italy, Slovenia and Austria; original functions to be attributed to the airport of Ronchi dei Legionari as airport for transborder regions.
The third section presents some projects and research on the role of Gorizia in cross-border cooperation, both direct with Nova Gorica and indirect with Italian, Slovenian and Austrian regions.
