Description: ISIG is in charge with a study on European experience of citizens’ participation in cross-border governance, covering the following issues:
- stock taking and description of European cross-border initiatives (“Eurioregions” or similar entities) with a civic participation dimension (at least five experiences and their main features in particular the civic participation aspects);
- assessment of the effectiveness of the participatory mechanisms and their impact on the decision-making procedures of the cross-border initiatives;
- identification of issues that deserve consideration and/or decision at the European level, including through a European conference or European legal instruments.
